Sydney’s Legacy
The Her Spark Sydney Madison Foundation was established by her family to honor the light, legacy, and life of Sydney Madison Boisselle following her tragic passing on January 5, 2026.
Sydney was a proud 2017 graduate of Northwood High School and Penta Career Center’s Construction Electricity Program. She continued her education through Toledo Electrical JATC, where she graduated in 2023 as an Inside Wireman Journeyman.
Throughout her career, Sydney continually broke barriers. During her apprenticeship, she became the first woman to receive the Apprentice of the Year Award, a reflection of her determination, leadership, and extraordinary work ethic.
As a proud member of her Local and a strong voice for women in the electrical trade, Sydney became a respected leader within the organization. She served as the first woman elected to the Examining Board, a delegate to the Ohio AFL-CIO, and was actively involved with both the Woman’s Committee and RENEW Committee.
Sydney also earned multiple professional credentials, including her City of Toledo Electrical License, Ohio Fire Alarm Installer and Technician License, and a Michigan Electrical License.
In 2025, Sydney found another way to give back to the trade she loved by becoming an instructor at Toledo Electrical JATC, where she began helping guide, teach, and mentor the next generation of electricians.
She understood that when a single spark is ignited, it has the power to illuminate countless futures.
But while Sydney was incredibly accomplished in her career, her life was about so much more than the work she did.
What truly defined Sydney was her heart.
Kindness came naturally to her. She had a genuine desire to help others and was the person who showed up when someone needed support, offered encouragement when someone was struggling, and never hesitated to lend a hand.
Whether it was a friend, family member, coworker, student, or complete stranger, Sydney had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and cared for.
She lived with compassion, generosity, determination and an unwavering willingness to help those in need. She believed in lifting others up, sharing what she knew, encouraging those around her, and making a positive impact wherever she could.
The countless lives Sydney touched during her 26 years are a testament to the beautiful person she was.
That same selfless spirit is why organ donation became such a powerful reflection of the way Sydney lived her life.
Even after her passing, she continued doing what she always did in life — helping others.
Through the gift of organ, eye, and tissue donation, Sydney saved and changed lives, giving hope to people and families who needed it most.
Continuing Her Spark
The Her Spark Sydney Madison Foundation was created by her mom and family to ensure that Sydney's kindness continues to make a difference for years to come.
Through scholarships, support for students and apprentices pursuing careers in the electrical trades, and assistance for individuals and families facing hardship, the foundation carries forward the compassion and generosity that defined Sydney's life.
Our mission is not simply to remember Sydney.
It is to continue the work she would be doing herself.
Through this foundation, her spark will continue to brighten lives, create opportunities, lift others up, and remind us that even the smallest act of kindness can change someone's world.
Sydney's story is one of love, kindness, service, and compassion. Her legacy is not measured only by her professional accomplishments, but by the people she encouraged, the lives she touched, the barriers she broke, and the people she continues to help.
Her life may have been far too short, but the impact she made was not. Her spark lives on in every life touched in her name.
This is her light.
This is her legacy.
This is her life continuing to make a difference.
